Photographer of the week write-up: Gunner Stahl

The beauty of Gunners background is it's vagueness. Today, there are many examples of using fame as a way to create an image for yourself, especially in hip-hop. With colorful hair, creative outfits, and new brands to propel into the limelight, there are more and more interesting characters showing themselves off. Born March 12th, 1992, Gunner has stayed behind the lens himself, revealing little about himself to the public. In a short documentary with magazine FADER, Gunner explains his upbringings in Atlanta, his hometown, and how his hobby turned career skyrocketed. When he turned 18, he started using a camera and learning all about it's intricacies, and learned how to shoot "still-life", or what goes on around him. It started in school, parties, parks and so on. His best work is candid, raw, film photo. "I basically like being a fly on the wall, just chilling and taking photos" (FADER). Atlanta has boomed in the last decade, being a hot spot for hip-hop. This was a setting that is a photographers heaven, so once Gunner got a name for himself and had a platform, he kicked it all off. Now, Gunner has a size-able social media following, and gets photos of more than just Atlanta rappers, but rappers around the nation that have huge followings, such as the Houston-born Travis $cott. Gunner now has an online shop, where you can buy prints of his work, as well as a photobook titled "Life's Not Boring" of his portraits from 2013-2016, with various covers. If he's not posting his work on twitter, Gunner is usually tweeting about what he takes photos of; Everyday life. It's evident that he is extremely aware of his surroundings, and lives to capture the moment.

Detroit: Become Human Review

“Detroit: Become Human” is a story-based and decision-heavy game developed by French developer group Quantic Dream, which created a game of similar playstyle titled “Heavy Rain,” which followed the story of a mourning, once successful father who will do anything to get the clues that lead him to the location of his kidnapped son. In "Detroit: Become Human," the year is 2038 and human technology has skyrocketed. Multi-billion dollar company CyberLife has developed human-like androids that act as personal servants to any average American citizen. Housework, taxes, attending to a child, even sex can all be done with a CyberLife android at your disposal. However, when these androids witness and experience abuse and neglect first-hand due to their reliance in the American workforce, the question arises; who’s more human? The game has you play as three androids; Markus, Connor, and Kara, each playing their own roles in the futuristic and industrial Detroit. Markus ha...
