GOOD EATS: What Students Enjoy Eating While On Campus

On Tuesday, Jan. 16th, digging right into the thriving LBCC campus to get some ideas for a story about the ever-growing LBCC community was a chore. Finding stories was not as easy as assumed, as during the hour, no events were going on and campus was mostly lacking of students. Roaming the campus hoping to find anything that would spark interest simply was not doable, and that's when it hit; the aroma of The Commons cafeteria waltzed over, and sparked thought process in an instant

Staying well fed is always important, but even more so in College. A meal before a test can make or break it, and eating what you want can improve overall mood at school. All of this had me thinking what other students at LBCC enjoy eating while taking their classes.

"It's good to be in an environment with people your age and make friends over the one thing that brings us all together; Food" said student Angel Garcia. Angel says he will often hit the vending machine or go for a drive and grab something in town, as long as the line is short in the drive-thru. Angel quoted these options as "Quick, easy, and cheap"

"I'll eat most eggs for breakfast at home" said student Jack Osborne. If he's not able to cook up some eggs at home before class, Jack said he'll pick up a Breakfast Bowl from The Commons. Eggs seem to be a popular choice among students, most likely due to their conventionality and versatility in the kitchen

Not everyone is willing to spend money most days however. Student Mackenzie King says that packing snacks such as Peppers, Cheese, Hummus, etc. is her preferred way to eat while at school. Student Kenadee Simpson goes this route as well

"Poptarts, Apples, and the Occasional cheese sandwich...mostly Poptarts" said Simpson

"Saves money and I don't eat a lot, so it works out well" said Mackenzie.

Student Jensen Taueu has some very specific choices however.

"$5 dollar cravings deal from the Taco Bell on Pacific (Highway), Arizona Tea, and Mint gum. Chewing some gum is (a) major key".

Chewing gum can help improve memory and energy levels on campus, however it's not recommended that you eat it.

Students veer towards the more conventional route of getting their nutrition, making something easy like eggs, or a small packed lunch with snacks. This makes sense, as a student your workload is heavy and even getting an opportunity to meal prep is difficult. As students change and adapt to new challenges every day, one thing remains the same; the good eats we look towards to keep us going every single day

Free Shoot: 5A Baseball Championship: Crescent Valley vs Crater

Junior Ethan Krupp moments before delivering a pitch to the hitter. Krupp preformed in place of Crescent Valley's starting pitcher, Taylor Holder, who had pitched in the past two games. Despite this, Krupp preformed very well, holding the Crater Comets to only two runs on Saturday. The Crescent Valley dugout watches on during warm-ups on Saturday, June 2nd in the 5A Baseball championship against the Crater Comets, who knocked off the Raiders last year in the states semi-finals. Senior Briley Knight looks on before his final High School game. Knight unfortunately followed most of the team on offense, which had 0 runs in their 2-0 loss, barely getting any hits throughout the game despite bases being loaded almost every inning.

Detroit: Become Human Review

“Detroit: Become Human” is a story-based and decision-heavy game developed by French developer group Quantic Dream, which created a game of similar playstyle titled “Heavy Rain,” which followed the story of a mourning, once successful father who will do anything to get the clues that lead him to the location of his kidnapped son. In "Detroit: Become Human," the year is 2038 and human technology has skyrocketed. Multi-billion dollar company CyberLife has developed human-like androids that act as personal servants to any average American citizen. Housework, taxes, attending to a child, even sex can all be done with a CyberLife android at your disposal. However, when these androids witness and experience abuse and neglect first-hand due to their reliance in the American workforce, the question arises; who’s more human? The game has you play as three androids; Markus, Connor, and Kara, each playing their own roles in the futuristic and industrial Detroit. Markus ha

Harry Potter has stretched across movies, and series like “Mission: Impossible” have sustained good quality for years, but one series towers above them all -- The Marvel Cinematic Universe. For 10 years, Marvel studios President Kevin Feige has been carefully and calmly formulating his grand master plan to intertwine some of the world’s most adored superheroes into one large, shared cinematic universe, and it all culminates in “Avengers: Infinity War.” “Avengers: Infinity War,” directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, is the 19th installment in the ever-intertwining MCU, and comes to cinemas with a $300 million budget, in case anyone doubted the time and effort put
